Cendrine Browne builds the kitchen of her dreams with Formica® products

Formica Canada, which has supported Cendrine’s athletic career for several years, was pleased to contribute to the project. Cendrine and her boyfriend got things started by demolishing their old kitchen. Their goal was to create a dream space that would be functional and include large countertops and storage space. 

The couple faced obstacles throughout the process, including delays in receiving materials and upgrading the kitchen’s structure. Some materials were out of stock because of the pandemic, which caused additional delays. Moreover, the foundation had shifted as their home was initially built several decades ago. Before embarking on rebuilding the kitchen, Cendrine and her boyfriend had to ensure the structure itself was up to code. As this was their first significant experience with construction, this stage was more arduous than expected. However, the athlete and her boyfriend were able to overcome it.

Cendrine and her boyfriend chose Formica products^® for the countertops, sink, and island. They opted for Everform^® Solid Surface in Gray Galaxy (737) for the countertops and island, and a jointless, undermount double sink in Everform^® Solid Surface to match the white kitchen cabinets and white ceramic backsplash.

“We chose to use Formica^® products for their renowned quality and unique designs. We’re extremely satisfied with our choice. Every time we have visitors, people are impressed by the look of our countertops and often think they're made of natural stone,” says Cendrine with pride. Also, the seamless sink adds a modern touch while eliminating water infiltration risks and making cleaning easier.

Despite the project’s many challenges, Cendrine couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome. Since she’s a big fan of home cooking, she can now prepare delicious meals in comfort and style in her new kitchen. “Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamt of having a modern, high-quality kitchen designed to my taste. Anyone who knows me knows that! Today, I can finally say that my dream has come true thanks to Formica,” says the Olympian.
